Learn all the tips and tricks of using an Airbrush for cake design in this brilliant introductory class
Sunday 23rd February
10am - 3pm
The CakeyBake Cake School @ The Hop Farm
Maximum number of students: 5
Suitable for: Beginners +
If you've never used an airbrush before (or maybe have one sitting in a drawer that you've never dared take out!), then this class is for you!
A lot of the skill of using an airbrush is understanding how it works! We'll spend time letting you explore your airbrush - beginning with learning how to take it apart (and put it back together!), cleaning it, maintaining it and troubleshooting common problems, such as blockages and 'spitting' and dealing with mistakes!
We'll then go through the different airbrush colour products available on the market and the pros/cons of each one and which projects each type is most suitable for.
We'll then take you through a number of amazing techniques to teach you:
Wood effect technique
Water effect technique
Stone and brick techniques
Cloud effect technique
Blending /shading technique
Airbrushing moulded sugarpaste for maximum impact
Protecting your airbrushed cake
Tips on handling an airbrushed cake
You'll go home with all of the deomonstration pieces you create (at least 6 pieces), some sample cookies that you will have practised your new design skills on, and a comperehensive handout featuring all of the information from the class.
Due to the expense of providing an airbrush for every student, we will only be offering spaces based on students bringing their own airbrush to the class.
This class is limited to just 5 studetns to allow space (and air!) for each indivdual to work happliy with their equipment in our studio.
This class will be held at our gorgeous Cake School at the Hop Farm. For more information on the venue, please click here.
We will provide as much tea, coffee and soft drinks as you would like throughout the day, however, if you have a particular preference, you are of course welcome to bring your own refreshments. We provide a free sandwich lunch on this class :)
